Introducing the Jobs, Parks & Housing Plan

It used to be the economic engine of Southeast San Francisco. But today, 35 years after the Navy closed it down, the Hunters Point Shipyard remains dirty, neglected and abandoned.  We can change all that by supporting the Bayview Jobs, Parks and Housing Plan - bringing new life and economic opportunity to San Francisco's most at-risk neighborhood.

Turning abandoned land and a little-used parking lot into AFFORDABLE HOUSING, PARKS AND JOBS

1 Clean Up Shipyard
The cleanup of the toxics at the shipyard will meet the strict legal and environmental cleanup standards stipulated by local, state and federal regulatory agencies.
6 Rebuild Double Rock Housing Project
The Alice Griffith (Double Rock) public housing project will be rebuilt providing safe, clean, modern accommodations for residents without displacing them
2 10,000 New Jobs
Creates 10,000 permanent jobs and thousands of construction jobs and provides million for wide-ranging job training to ensure local residents an opportunity to work.
7 Accommodating a New 49ers Stadium
Allows the 49ers a new state-of-the-art football stadium in their rightful hometown.
3 Over 3,000 Affordable Homes
Up to 10,500 new homes will be built at various levels of affordability making them available for families and seniors, alike, to rent or own.
8 $10 million for schools, health and wellness
The project will provide these desperately needed funds for San Francisco public  schools, as well as $2 million for health and welfare of local residents.
4 335 Acres of New Parks
Over 335 acres of new and improved parkland,  waterfront open space and recreational fields will be created - the largest parks expansion in one hundred years.
9 United Nations Global Warming HQ
The United Nations Center for Global Warming will be located on the site, helping San Francisco continue its worldwide environmental leadership.
5 $49 million in new tax revenue for San Francisco
The project, with strict taxpayer restrictions, will produce $49 million in new revenue to our hemorrhaging General Fund
10 Permanent  Home for Shipyard Artists
New, permanent space for artists in order to maintain in the Shipyard’s historic and cultural traditions.
